Pregnancy Week 38

Your baby this week

Babies at 38 weeks weigh between 3kg and 3.2kg. Your baby will continue to build the fat stores that will help regulate his/her body temperature after birth.

The vast majority of your little one’s organs are mature and fully functioning,  but the lungs will be last to reach maturity. The lungs will be able to function outside of the womb and will continue to mature after birth.

Your body this week

You only have 2 weeks left in your pregnancy, so try to sit back and enjoy these last few days.

Also use this time to prepare for your baby or to take care of necessary tasks you may not get around to for a while after your baby’s born. Checkout the newborn essentials checklist to make sure you have everything that you need.
